Cloudy Halloween stays mainly dry before a wetter pattern takes over | Oct. 31, 2026

TODAY

Halloween starts off cool and cloudy, and the clouds are going to be stubborn through most of the day. Highs reach the middle to upper 60s with east to southeast winds around 5–10 mph. A few sprinkles or some virga cannot completely be ruled out, but dry air near the ground should keep most of central Indiana rain-free. So despite the gloomy look, daytime Halloween plans should be in pretty good shape.

TONIGHT

Clouds stay locked in through the evening with temperatures only falling into the middle 50s. East winds around 5 mph become nearly calm overnight. Most trick-or-treating hours should remain dry, but shower chances begin increasing later at night as the next disturbance gets closer.

TOMORROW

Sunday is when the umbrella becomes much more useful. Showers become increasingly likely through the day with mostly cloudy skies and highs in the middle 60s. Winds start light before becoming south to southeast around 5–10 mph. Rainfall should generally come in rounds rather than continuously, but Sunday looks like the wetter of the two weekend days.

TOMORROW NIGHT

Scattered showers remain possible through the evening before coverage gradually decreases overnight. Temperatures fall into the lower 50s with south to southeast winds around 5–10 mph. It stays cloudy and damp even during the longer breaks in the rain.

MONDAY

Monday gives us a bit of a lull, but we do not completely clear out the rain chances. Expect mostly cloudy skies with highs in the middle to upper 60s. South to southeast winds increase to around 5–10 mph with occasional gusts near 20 mph. A few showers may redevelop during the afternoon, but Monday does not currently look like an all-day washout.

MONDAY NIGHT

Mostly cloudy and mild with lows in the middle to upper 50s. South to southeast winds remain around 10 mph with occasional gusts near 20 mph. A few showers remain possible, although the more organized rain should hold off until Tuesday.

TUESDAY

The active pattern really starts ramping up again Tuesday. Expect partly sunny to mostly cloudy skies with scattered showers and perhaps an isolated thunderstorm. Highs climb into the lower to middle 70s thanks to a stronger southerly wind around 10–15 mph with gusts near 25 mph. It will feel noticeably warmer and a little more humid despite the unsettled weather.

TUESDAY NIGHT

Rain chances increase again overnight with scattered showers and a few thunderstorms possible. Temperatures only fall into the upper 50s with south winds around 10–15 mph. Locally heavier downpours are possible, but there is no organized severe-weather signal at this point.

WEDNESDAY

Wednesday looks like another fairly active weather day. Periods of rain become likely with a few thunderstorms possible as a stronger system crosses the region. Highs reach the upper 60s. South winds remain breezy before gradually shifting as the system moves through. Some locally heavier rain is possible, but widespread severe weather is not currently expected.

7 DAY OUTLOOK

Halloween Saturday stays mostly cloudy but largely dry, with the better rain chances arriving Saturday night into Sunday. Sunday looks wet at times before a brief lull Monday, then another stronger round of showers and a few thunderstorms develops Tuesday into Wednesday.

The unsettled pattern may linger into Thursday before quieter weather begins returning Friday. Rainfall totals through the middle of the week could become fairly healthy after such a long dry stretch, while temperatures generally remain mild in the 60s and 70s before cooling somewhat late next week.
