It’s been a huge year for Apple, with new products arriving throughout 2026. March brought the MacBook Neo and iPhone 17e, followed by the new Mac mini and Mac Studio in August.
September delivered another wave of launches at Apple’s “Surprise and Shine” event, including the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max, iPhone Duo, Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4, and AirPods 5.
Apple turned its attention to the smart home at its “Welcome Home” gathering on October 13, unveiling HomeView, HomePod mini 2, a new Apple TV 4K and the Apple Home Collection. More announcements followed: a new iPad mini on October 26, then a 14-inch MacBook Pro and iMac with M6 chips on October 27.
Apple completed that week’s announcements on October 28 with the MacBook Pro with PROLED XDR Display – its first touchscreen Mac. The new 14-inch and 16-inch models feature tandem OLED displays, Dynamic Island and thinner, lighter designs. Preorders are open, with availability beginning November 6.
With the touchscreen MacBook Pro now announced, attention turns to Apple’s 2027 lineup. Reports point to a spring launch for the standard iPhone 18, iPhone 18e and potentially an updated iPhone Air, alongside a new entry-level iPad with Apple Intelligence support.
As of September 1, 2026, Apple’s roadmap has come under the direction of CEO John Ternus. Former CEO Tim Cook has moved into the executive chairman role. The shift from an operations-focused leader to one with deep hardware engineering roots could signal a more product-driven approach – and a renewed emphasis on standout hardware.

And… RIP Mac Pro: Apple has confirmed that it is discontinuing its tower workstation.
Read on to find out what new products to expect at Apple’s next event and in 2027 and beyond.
In the sections below we’ve split the upcoming new products into categories including Mac, iPad, iPhone, Apple Watch, Home, AirPods, and some new product categories.
Reports point to a split iPhone launch schedule in 2027, with the iPhone 18, iPhone 18e and potentially an updated iPhone Air arriving in spring. A major redesign could follow in the fall to mark the iPhone’s 20th anniversary. There is a lot of speculation about whether Apple will use the iPhone 19 or iPhone 20 name.

The iPhone 18 and 18e are rumored to arrive together in the spring of 2027. Both could gain A20 chips and more RAM. The iPhone 18 is expected to retain dual rear cameras and gain a 24MP selfie camera; the 18e may keep one rear camera and a 60Hz display. Read about the iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e rumors.
The iPhone Air could also be getting an update. But there are rumors that it will actually merge with the iPhone 18. See our iPhone Air 2 rumors.
Apple’s 20th-anniversary iPhone could feature curved glass, ultra-thin bezels and two larger display sizes. Under-display Face ID could reduce the camera cutout. See our iPhone 19 or 20 rumors – because one thing nobody is sure about is whether Apple will skip 19 like it skipped 9 with the arrival of the iPhone X.
Should you buy now or wait?
If you need an iPhone now, compare current models with discounted older stock and refurbished alternatives. If your existing phone still meets your needs and you’re considering a standard or lower-cost model, waiting for the rumored spring 2027 launches may give you more choice. See our guide to When is the best time to buy an iPhone.
Don’t expect major redesigns for the iPads. Instead, Apple is likely to focus on faster chips and other internal upgrades. That said, the iPad is due an update – particularly as it lacks support for Apple Intelligence. Here’s what we expect Apple to announce:

When Apple updated the standard iPad in March 2025, the biggest disappointment was its A16 chip, which doesn’t support Apple Intelligence. The next model is expected to address that with an A18 or A19 chip, bringing Apple’s AI features to its entry-level tablet.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman previously predicted a 2026 launch but now expects the new iPad in the first quarter of 2027 at the earliest. Read more in our new iPad rumor roundup.

2026 was a significant year for the Mac, with Apple’s first touchscreen MacBook Pro and a new entry-level laptop – the MacBook Neo. What is in store for 2027?
Now that the MacBook Pro, iMac and Mac mini have the M6 chip, it’s only a matter of time before the MacBook Air gets its processor upgrade.
Currently, the MacBook Neo is powered by the A18 Pro chip. We expect it will get an upgrade to the A20 Pro chip that powers the iPad mini.

Apple
Apple has launched the M6 iMac, but could there be something bigger coming? Reports suggest Apple has explored a new iMac Pro with a 32-inch mini-LED display. Pro-level performance is rumored, with more powerful chips and greater memory capacity than the standard model.

According to a brief update in Mark Gurman’s Power On newsletter for Bloomberg in August, Apple is aiming to launch camera-equipped AirPods.
The new earbuds are expected to resemble the AirPods Pro 3, although it’s not yet clear whether they will also include a heart rate sensor.
The cameras are said to include both visible-light and infrared sensors, but they reportedly won’t be designed for taking photos or recording video, as their placement and image quality would make them unsuitable for those tasks. Instead, the cameras are expected to enable AI-powered features, such as hand gesture recognition, adapting audio based on the surrounding environment, and detecting whether someone is speaking directly to you or simply talking nearby.

Apple released iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27 and its other major updates in September 2026, introducing Siri AI, expanded Apple Intelligence features, new parental controls and app improvements. Further point updates will bring additional features, refinements and bug fixes.
For current features, availability and forthcoming additions, see our macOS 27 and iOS 27 guides. Our separate latest iOS beta and latest macOS beta guides track testing of future updates.
Siri AI brings more natural conversations, personal-context and onscreen awareness, and more actions across apps. Not every promised Siri AI feature was available at launch.
October’s 27.2 updates added French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish alongside English. Traditional Chinese, Norwegian, Turkish and Vietnamese are due by year-end. In the EU, Siri AI is available on macOS but remains unavailable on iOS, iPadOS and watchOS.
Availability depends on device, language and region, and some users may need to join a waiting list.
Apple is expected to preview its next major operating systems at WWDC in June 2027, followed by summer beta testing and public releases in the fall.
In October 2026 Apple announced a major expansion of its smart-home lineup with the launch of the HomeView, HomePod mini 2, a new Apple TV 4K and the Apple Home Collection at its “Welcome Home” experience. We are still waiting for the update to the larger HomePod, with hope that could arrive in 2027.

The HomePod mini was updated in 2026, but not the larger HomePod. The reason for the delay may be that a more advanced HomePod speaker featuring a built-in display is coming.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports that Apple is developing a higher-end HomeView, codenamed J595, with a 9-inch display mounted on a motorized arm. The screen could rotate through 360 degrees and automatically turn toward whoever is speaking.
This would be a separate, more advanced model than the 7-inch HomeView announced in October 2026. Apple has not announced the device, and “HomeView Max” and “HomeView Ultra” remain speculative names. Read more about the HomeView Ultra here: ‘HomeView Ultra’ with robot arm may be coming next year
Unlike the bulky Vision Pro headset, the upcoming smart glasses from Apple are expected to follow a form factor similar to the Ray-Ban Meta glasses. Said to be built specifically for “Visual Intelligence.” It will likely handle tasks such as live translations, music playback, phone calls, and turn-by-turn directions. Apple could provide a first glimpse or “preview” of the glasses by the end of 2026.
Prior to 2026, Apple’s spatial computing strategy has focused on the high-end market, but reports indicate a more affordable version of the headset is in development. Apple has reportedly paused work on a successor to the high-end Vision Pro and could instead release a cheaper Vision Pro.
